RESOURCE ROOM FOR THE DEAF/HARD OF HEARING NOW AT CENTRAL POINT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
The school year has begun with an exciting change for the regional program's Deaf/Hard of Hearing elementary level resource room. After a year of planning, the 2005-06 school year ushered in a move that brought this classroom to Central Point Elementary School.
Currently, twelve Jackson County students with hearing loss are being served at CPE. This "new beginning" allows deaf/hard of hearing students with significant resource
needs to have the option of staying in one school district throughout their kindergarten through high school career. Middle and high school PDHH (Program for the Deaf/Hard
of Hearing) resource rooms are also provided at Scenic MS and Crater High, allowing for smooth natural transitions, long-term friendships, and maximum use of regional staff.
Although all will miss the wonderful support that was previously provided at Griffin Creek Elementary School in Medford in past years, we look forward to this wonderful,
new opportunity and extended partnership with Central Point School District.
