Oregon Online Gears Up for Second Semester Classes
Oregon Online is gearing up for second semester registration, which begins January 9. Second semester classes begin January 30. High School courses offered include language arts, social studies, math, science, and electives such as careers and art history; middle school and credit retrieval courses are offered as well.
Students who are new to online education may want to check out our orientation course, available for free online at http://o2blackboard.wesd.org . They may log in with the username of “o2student” and the password “guest” to access this material, which leads them through a sample course, a computer tune-up, and a self-assessment readiness quiz, as well as a few activities similar to what they may experience in an online course.
To inform counselors on new Oregon Online updates and procedures, a Counselor Training Session will be held Friday, January 13, 2006, from 9-11 am, via videoconferencing. All counselors and staff involved in registering students for Oregon Online courses and/or accessing progress report grades should attend this session. If you are interested in participating, please let us know as soon as possible.
