About Technology & Media Services
Technology and Media Services provides comprehensive services to local school districts covering 10,000 square miles serving Jackson, Josephine, and Klamath counties of Southern Oregon. Services include:
Computer Information Services
Computer Information Services supports the IT infrastructure for SOESD and the thirteen school districts in the three county region of southern Oregon. CIS administers the agency’s 24x7 data center, serving critical information systems to local schools. CIS provides IT vision, leadership, project management, software development, and technical support. The CIS Region-Wide Help Desk provides first-call resolution, onsite, and remote technical support for SOESD and the districts we serve.
Southern Oregon Education Service District provides a courier service for pick-up and delivery of a variety of media materials and equipment.
Interactive Video Conferencing
Multi-point, interactive video network that connects 45 schools within the SOESD service area. The SOESD network also connects with high schools, ESD’s and other institutions throughout the state of Oregon. The video conference network provides distance learning and conference opportunities.
Provides computer, surveillance, and television network design, repair and maintenance of all types of electronic equipment. This department also purchases a multitude of electronic supplies and devices for schools at greatly reduced prices.
DVD/Video/Software Booking and circulating materials to local K-12 teachers.
Network Services assists the agency and the local school districts in Jackson, Josephine, and Klamath counties in keeping their networks operating smoothly, including two-way audio/video classrooms and the circuits that connect them.
Oregon Online is an accredited program of licensed, highly qualified teachers. Oregon Online offers over seventy regular and credit retrieval online courses to students in subjects such as language arts, math, science, social studies, art, foreign languages, and some electives. In addition, Oregon Online provides professional development opportunities for educators through venues such as the Ed Tech Cadre and collaboration with both Southern Oregon University and Klamath Community College. Oregon Online provides technical assistance to schools that support and accommodate online teachers and learners.
Computer Information Services and Electronic Services departments provide technology purchasing services for SOESD and District staff.
