Southern Oregon Family Resilience Project

S outhern Oregon Success (Jackson & Josephine counties), Creating Community Resilience (Douglas County), South Coast Together (Coos and Curry counties), and Klamath Promise (Klamath County, and extended into Lake County for this project) coordinate community-wide, cross-sector efforts to increase awareness and understanding of the impact of trauma on health, behavioral and social outcomes.

These local groups coordinate community-wide efforts to increase awareness and understanding of the impact of trauma on health, behavioral and social outcomes.

Through their work, these communities are developing a common vocabulary and cross-sector collaboration to implement science-based trauma-informed practices that focus on the whole child, whole family and whole community, and promote resilience.

This  proven approach addresses the root causes of abuse and neglect, addiction, and homelessness, as well as other negative health and social outcomes.  It also provides tools to intentionally build resilience in children, families and communities.

ACEs

ACEs is Adverse Childhood Experiences. Based on a landmark population study that showed that adversity and trauma in childhood can have lifetime impacts on health outcomes, mental health outcomes and social outcomes, the initiatives have developed effective cross-sector collaborations to foster resilience for families and their communities.
