The inaugural Southern Oregon High School Culinary Competition has officially wrapped, and what an incredible day it was! Teams of two to three talented student chefs from across the region showcased their skills in a dynamic, hands-on challenge that highlighted creativity, teamwork, and the bounty of our local food systems.
Each team crafted a fully plated entrée featuring a required protein, starch, vegetable, and—most exciting of all—a mystery ingredient revealed at the start of the event. Every element was prepared entirely from scratch using local, seasonal ingredients. The results were impressive, beautifully presented, and deliciously inventive.
This event celebrated not only culinary skill but also the hard work of educators, community partners, and industry mentors who support these aspiring young chefs. We’re proud to highlight their dedication and can’t wait to see how these students continue to grow in their culinary journeys.
