Description: Art and Science Kids is primarily a nature-based program with children spending most of their days outdoors in all seasons in all weather. We have an indoor classroom, which we use mostly for potty, washing, and extended care. Our students run and play, hike, splash in puddles, and climb trees. We teach social development, motor skills, and perseverance.

Experience or specialized trainings: Our staff attends trainings in all seasons focusing on social skills, birds, mushrooms, puppetry, literacy, and more. Last year we studied the Pyramid Model, a framework of evidence-based practices for promoting young children’s healthy social and emotional development. We frequently attend classes with the Oregon Natural Resources Education Program in partnership with Oregon State University.
