Please join us in celebrating Max Jones! It was our honor at SOESD to bring together the Blue Ribbon Panel that named him this year’s Regional Teacher of the Year.
At North Valley High School, Max has built the music program from the ground up over the past four years, creating a safe and welcoming space where every student can thrive.
Known for his innovation, care, and musical excellence, Max embodies the spirit of Oregon’s Teacher of the Year Program—lifting up students of all skill levels, fostering collaboration, and inspiring positivity and a love of learning in the school and the wider community.
On September 18, Max was celebrated in his classroom alongside students, teachers, district leaders, Oregon Lottery staff, and SOESD’s Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent. His students even serenaded him with band music—an unforgettable moment of appreciation and joy!
