Family Support & Connections

Family Support and Connections is a statewide program designed to help families meet the challenges of being a parent in the world today. Family Support and Connections is available to families with at least one child under the age of 18 living at home that receive public benefits like SNAP, TANF, ERDC, or OHP. A local family advocate is assigned to each family to help develop an individual plan to overcome barriers to success related to:
  • Finding resources
  • Emergency services
  • Arranging child care
  • Arranging transportation
  • Children’s behavioral issues
  • Job issues
  • Housing assistance
  • Crisis intervention
  • Domestic violence
  • Mentoring
  • Budgeting
  • Alcohol and drug treatment
  • Parenting
  • Goal setting
  • Getting an education
  • Other needs

Being a parent can be stressful, and all families can use a little help from time to time. Family Support and Connections offers free, voluntary services. Advocates are flexible and available to meet anywhere your family feels comfortable. Whether in an office, or at home your family advocate will help identify the strengths and needs of your family and work with you to find the solutions that will work best for you and your children.
