Grow Your Own for Cadet Teachers

Some high schools offer CTE classes in Education, and some of those classes may eligible for college credit. These classes can help future teachers get a head start on their college education. High School >Ā Community College >Ā 4 Year University

  • Step 1: See if your high school offers CTE classes in Education. Ask your school counselor if your high school offers any education courses. Some courses may be eligible for college credit.
  • Step 2: Enroll in a community college. Take pre-requisite courses at a community college, and apply to a 4 year university to complete your teacher prep program.
  • Step 3: Transfer to a 4 year university. Complete your teacher preparation courses at a 4 year university. Graduate with a teaching degree, and apply for a teaching license.
  • Step 4: Apply for teaching jobs and begin your teaching career. After you graduate with your degree and receive your teaching license, you can start apply for teaching jobs in your local school districts.
